In the past parts, we spoke on how a blockchain ledger is formed and shaped
As you know when a miner in a node solves the missing logarithmic in a block successfully, a new block is formed. But what will happen if a two miners figures out the same number in similarly same time?
If two miners in a node were able to successfully figure out a number in the same time, a diversion will happen in the chain in the form of a fork. One of the blocks will be created on the original chain, and the other block will be formed on the other forked chain.
The blocks that are formed on a forked chain are usually called “orphaned”, as the forked chain does not continue and stops, and all blocks built on it are invalid
